
Every year in December about South Tyrol and Alta Badia looks. Then 4 of the Alpine Ski World Cup of men's races in our country. The giant slalom on the Gran Risa slope in Alta Badia and the downhill in Val Gardena among the great classics of Alpine skiing.
The Gran Risa Pista celebrates their achievements with the big ski-stars since decades. Were: Ingemar Stenmark, Ted Ligety, mark Girardelli, Michael von GRÜNIGEN, Bode Miller, Marcel Hirscher and of course the most successful racer from Italy, Alberto Tomba.
Since the winter by 2015/2016 compete the world athletes on the Gran Risa slope also in a parallel night slalom which will take place on Monday.
During the Ski World Cup weekend la located in December Villa, venue of the Alta Badia World Cup race, so to speak, in the State of exception: the very special atmosphere when thousands of ski fans from all over Europe come here to cheer on their favorites and with them to celebrate, you must have seen just once.

The technically interesting Gran Risa slope perfectly the requirements demanding of skiers. With a vertical drop of 448 m, a length of 1.255 m and a maximum slope of 53% it is considered one of the most beautiful slopes in giant slalom at the Ski World Cup.
The launch of this literally breathtaking departure is located at an altitude of 1,871 m, just below the junction of the red and black slopes of Piz la ILA. Along its entire length, through a trail in a pine forest leads the Gran Risa. Due to its steepness and also due to its shady, heavily iced position the slope is one of the most difficult routes in the World Cup.
